The Duke Experience

At The Duke of Cornwall Live last year we offered every couple the chance to win a Vintage Experience with us and on the 16th April we welcomed our winners, the beautiful Jess and her handsome husband-to-be David to The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, for a Vintage Experience before their wedding day.

To start their day they were picked up in a classic Rolls Royce provided by The Windsor Carriage Company and chauffeur driven to the hotel.

They were met by our front of house team with a glass of champagne and escorted to The Lounge, where they were able to relax in our comfy Chesterfield sofas. All before being whisked off to one of our Superior Double rooms for Jess to have her hair professionally styled by the wonderful Milly from No.4 Hair Studio (champagne still in hand of course).

Now of course, there is always time for pictures and we were lucky enough to get Amber from Liberty Pearl Photography on board. We have worked with her in the past so she knows the hotel very well which lent itself perfectly to this shoot..you can be sure that she will find the perfect angle, light and position to show only your best side! Every corner of the hotel, inside and out, lends itself beautifully for photos…whether you’re passing through and want a quick shot on our Grade 2 listed staircase or you are here for your big day and want your perfect picture…you don’t have to look far to find the ideal spot (as Jess and David found out).

Oh, did we mention, the Barbican is only a hop, skip and a jump away from the hotel (feel free to travel that way if you wish!) and when the day was as beautiful as it was on Saturday this lovely couple couldn’t resist popping down…and when the pictures look like this who can blame them!

On returning to the hotel Jess and David concluded their day by being taken up our iconic tower to enjoy afternoon tea while taking in beautiful 360 degree views of Plymouth and beyond.

We would like to send our biggest thanks to Jess and David for allowing us to share these magical pictures with you and we hope that their day was everything they had hoped for and more, this is just the beginning of their experience of the Duke and we wish them the best of luck when they return to us in September 2017 for their big day!
