Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth
Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth

Long before the boutique hotel was invented, The Duke of Cornwall was famous for its individuality, attention to detail and spacious accommodation.

Built by "Honest John" Pethick in 1863, the privately owned hotel was saved from uncertainty in the 1970's following a campaign led by the late Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman.

We are delighted to provide whatever it takes to assure your convenience and comfort. The Duke of Cornwall's classical-gothic 19th Century architecture is just part of our heritage, which also includes an adherence to the traditional ideal of courteous and efficient service.

We are proud of our excellent, focused and intuitive staff, who provide an unparalleled commitment to our guests. We believe that attention to detail never goes out of vogue.

Still a privately owned hotel, Jon Morcom and Walter Combstock have been the Duke of Cornwall's proprietors for several years and pride themselves on not only a simply excellent hotel but also as award winning employers.
